Hemda’s writing skills and subject matter expertise have been cultivated and informed by her experience as a corporate leadership coach and a director in hospital and higher education settings. She has created content and collaborated on strategy for grant proposals, program development, human resource functions, stakeholder relations, podcasts, professional talks, feature articles, blogs, marketing, and other communications.
As a consultant for leadership development, career mobility, and talent reassignment programs at JPMorgan Chase for over 13 years, Hemda designed and promoted workshops and partnered with employees to establish professional development plans and value propositions. She has served on advisory boards, as the Interim Administrative Director and Director of Special Projects for the Medicine Department at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, and as the Acting Director of Alumni Relations at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Her writing reflects the exposure that she has gained in facilitating individual and institutional advancement as both an employee and consultant. She draws empathy and insights from her reference points as a fraternal twin, parent, and first generation American.
Hemda earned an Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling and a M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She completed a B.S. in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management at Cornell University, and is certified in both counseling and coaching.
