Lori Riley is a strategic communications leader with over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit higher education sector. She is the owner of Loriley Communications LLC and a strategic partner with The Angeletti Group.

Lori is known for her combination of talents: project management, content development, writing, editing, creative direction, technical production, event planning, problem solving, and interpersonal communication. This diverse skill set firmly positions her as a confident and capable member of any professional team, and she loves being involved in big-picture planning as well as hands-on doing.

Prior to establishing her communications consulting business, Lori worked in institutional advancement settings at Rutgers University and Seton Hall University:

In these roles, she provided communications counsel and hands-on communications support for various fundraising campaigns and development initiatives, including Rutgers Giving Days, Health Equity in New Jersey Fund, Botswana-Rutgers Partnership for Health Fund, Seton Hall Ever Forward Sesquicentennial Campaign, Rutgers Big Ideas, alumni reunions and awards programs, donor relations and stewardship, and database management and reporting. She also was a key contributor and leader for many integrated marketing communications projects in support of strategic goals related to branding, reputation building, volunteer engagement, research capacity, strategic partnerships, student affairs, and community engagement.

Above all, Lori understands the importance of relationships. She knows that every encounter is an opportunity – to make an impression, to nurture and advance a relationship. In her communications and marketing work, she keeps relationship-building at the center of it all. She prides herself on guiding teams to create meaningful and positive experiences throughout the full continuum of engagement.

Lori’s educational background includes receiving a master of arts degree in corporate and public communication from Seton Hall University and a bachelor of arts degree in journalism/media studies and anthropology from Rutgers University.
