Carolyn’s 17-year career in the nonprofit sector began in direct service to underserved populations and was the catalyst to pursue fundraising as a career. She developed her skills in institutional advancement for health and education organizations which led to management of multi-year, sustainable fundraising and development projects that include campaigns, event planning and implementation, major donor cultivation and solicitation, resource development, database management, communications and more.

Notably, she participated in the planning and implementation of a successful $3 million endowment campaign for a school in Hoboken; she also cultivated and successfully secured the second largest capital gift in a Nutley school’s recent history while developing its annual funding efforts which resulted in a 25 percent increase for two consecutive years. She truly enjoys working with  Boards to develop their commitment and support for the nonprofit’s mission.

She approaches life and work with an energetic and passionate attitude. Carolyn truly loves developing resources by building relationships and helping others make a difference in the nonprofit  sector. She believes education, along with health, is fundamental to living a fulfilling life.

Carolyn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy in New York City. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE);  has a certificate in Planned Giving authorized by University of California, Davis; and sits on the  Marketing and Communications Committee for Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York.

Carolyn completed three, two-year terms as a Board Member and fundraising counsel for The Brookdale Park Conservancy, a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining and  improving Brookdale Park which borders the towns of Montclair and Bloomfield in New Jersey  where she lives. She currently sits on the Board of Great Swamp Watershed Association that  advocates for the restoration and preservation of the Great Swamp Watershed and Passaic River. She  lives in Bloomfield, NJ.
